Q: What does it mean, “Invitation to come via Rosterfy?” Is that an email push or do we need to go look for it?
A: Invitations for live calls will be shifted within Rosterfy - so you should receive a Rosterfy notification, and it will appear in your personal Rosterfy Portal. Self-paced trainings will also appear in your Rosterfy Portal, and we will send Rosterfy email notifications alerting you that trainings have become available.
Q: What guest experience are you training on? Commercial? is this training time counting toward their pre-planning time.
A: WFO is managing Generic training, so our training will only cover an intro to Guest Experience/Services. Any guest servicing training within a specific FA relating to their programme needs to be handled within their FA-specific training. The Guest Services team are creating a training for staff working on Hospitality Desks. Please contact Lisa Moloney or Madalena Frere for more information.
Q: If we have French contractor on-site (Deel), should they join the international contractor training or the elevate training?
A: DEEL contractors (French and International) should attend the Contractor call.
Q: Is there any concern with staff that do not speak French and their abilities communicate with the inspectors.
A: In these instances, we would recommend that non-French speaking employees reach out the WFO/HR immediately for language support. We will provide a step-by-step guide to manage various scenarios in the next few weeks.
Q: If they visit, are the inspectors allowed access to anywhere they want in the venue, or can we keep them in an area and send the staff to them to interview?
A: More to follow on this. We are attending a P24-led webinar next week, and we will ensure that there is a step-by-step guide on how to manage likely on-site scenarios.
Q: Do they [the labour inspectors] show up in plain clothes? No uniform? Do they wear a membership badge?
A: Yes, they will introduce themselves with Identification, but will not be wearing a uniform.
Q: Do we agree that the 24 hours of mandatory rest per week does not represent one calendar day but 35 hours between the end of the last assignment and the start of the next one?
A: Indeed we have to add the 24 hours of mandatory rest plus the 11 hours of rest between two days, so in reality it has to be 35 hours of rest.
Q: When will we start following these rules?
A: When we start the operations. We will make sure we respect these rules when we build the work schedule for all teams.
Q: Can you explain Sunday work more. How do we give more time off the rest of the week?
A: The time off accumulated and is to be taken after Games Time.
Q: Do these rules apply to On Location American employees working in France for the Games? Or only French employees?
A: All colleagues coming from abroad to work in Paris for the Games will have to follow the French law regarding working hours. So the rules apply to the US employees too (the day package slide).
Q: We are managing contractors, so if we ask them to do something, we have to follow the same rules?
A: As standard practice, OLE employees and long-term contractors will follow all French labour law and regulations, as well as any OLE-directed policies and procedures as it relates to them specifically.
Q: Are US contract staff held to a specific level by inspectors or excluded from the French regulations?
A: All Contractors are held to the same standards as other employees and suppliers’ staff. Everyone is subject to the French Labour regulations as it relates to their specific hiring and contracting path.
Q: Breaks are paid? So, if we schedule 8 hours that includes 1 hour lunch, we pay for 8 hours or 7?
A: Yes, that is correct for Elevate staff – 8 hours are paid.
Q: Does travel time for staff to get to venues, etc. count for hours?
A: No, travel time does not count in the hours.
Q: Once we have done the shift schedule for staff, is there somebody checking for us that all the rules are followed?
A: Yes, you can share the schedule with Maite from HR, and you can check it together.
Q: Does a work week start on a Monday, or does it start counting the day the staff member starts?
A: The work week starts when a staff member's contract starts. I.e. Staff Member A starts on Tuesday, 2 July; the work week starts on that day.
Q: Will employees of OLE/Endeavor companies from other countries need to comply with French "employee" rules?
A: Yes, as soon as employees from another country start working in France, the French law applies for working hours.
Q: Can we create the shift and fill out the address afterwards?
A: Rosterfy does require a venue address when creating shifts; however, we can add a dummy address to be replaced later if you need.
Q: Is "day off' a shift that we need to put in, since they will have quite a few of them?
A: No need to schedule days off in Rosterfy or for staff.
Q: Is all this training paid time for the level 1 contractors?
A: Please consult your functional area lead or program director regarding submitting days worked for training time.
Q: Can we go into Rosterfy and record how long the actual shift was (the scheduled can be different from what actually happened)?
A: It can - this is where clocking in and out comes in. The clock in and out times can be different than the scheduled shift times.
Q: When scheduling the shifts, once populated with times and names of shift and location, will the tool actually schedule the individual staff assigned to that department, or do we add the names manually?
A: The names need to be added in Rosterfy.
Q: DEEL international contractors are never subject to French Labour laws, aren't they? What about DEEL French ones?
A: Contractors in general are not subject to French labour laws. Only employees (of OL SAS, OL international, or Elevate).
